Mission

The church supports a number of organisations both financially and with prayer.

Church Mission Society (CMS) www.cms-uk.org

We support Garry Ion as our CMS mission partner.

CMS is committed to responding to God’s call to evangelistic mission, particularly in places “where the name of Jesus is rarely heard” and works in close fellowship with local Christians wherever possible.

Garry divides his time between projects in Kitgum in Northern Uganda and in Southern Sudan.

Cheltenham Youth for Christ (CYFC) www.cheltenhamyfc.blogspot.com

Our mission link with CYFC in Cheltenham is Paul Bennett.

Cheltenham Youth for Christ (YFC) is a part of a national Christian charity that seeks to draw alongside teens from every background and culture in Britain. Fulltime staff and local volunteers specialise in working with unchurched youth.

Barnabas Fund www.barnabasfund.org

Barnabas Fund seeks to alleviate the needs of Christians suffering for their faith. It operates in 41 countries, including Myanmar (Burma) and North Korea.  Help is provided for medical care, education, church restoration, victim support, disaster relief, leadership training, small business enterprises, etc.

Lake Ruwka Diocese

Holy Apostles is in partnership with Bishop Mathayo in the diocese of Lake Ruwka in Tanzania. This is a new Diocese and we are seeking ways in which Holy Apostles can help and support the Bishop and diocese in their vision of “a progressive and peaceful community living its life in fullness”.

Foodbank www.trusselltrust.org
The Trussel Trust run foodbanks which provide three days emergency food and support to people experiencing a particular need at a time of crisis. We support the Cheltenham Foodbank through volunteers helping at the Foodbank and through the congregation providing food.

Hatherley Aid to Serbia

This charity supplies spiritual and practical help to people in the town of Bor. This involves talking with them about their problems, providing food, hygiene items or medicine. The charity also runs three bible study and friendship groups for Roma people and a drop-in help centre.

In addition to the above we support a number of other charities mainly though our Harvest and Christmas collections.  These include ABCD, CCP, and Open Door.
